The subject matter has a strong focus on computer (Mac and Windows) tutorials and hacks as well as iDevice jailbreaking content. TRANSCRIPT: Hey guys, David here from techgeec.com and I'll be showing you how to transfer your music from any apple device to any computer. Stay tuned. DiskAid is an incredibly simple program that you can download for both Windows and Mac. The version I'm currently using as of August 2013 is 6.3.2. Version 6 is currently only available for Mac, however, it should be available for Windows around September so once September 2013 rolls around you can upgrade from version 5 on Windows to version 6. Until then keep following along with this tutorial, the steps are pretty much exactly the same. Now DiskAid is compatible with with all iPod, iPhone, and iPad models on all versions of iOS so get your device and go ahead and plug it in to the computer. What's great about version 6 is that you can actually transfer media from your device to your computer right over WiFi if you don't have a cable with you. Obviously this will be a bit slower but it's still a great option to have. One last thing to mention is that it doesn't matter which computer the device was originally synced with because DiskAid will transfer your media to any computer. And so with that you can use DiskAid to back up, recover, or share your media. So the first thing we want to do to transfer our music is to navigate to the music tab in the left navigation pane and go to songs. Now over here you can see all of our genres, artists, albums, and then all of our songs right here. Let me go ahead and open up iTunes and you can see that my library is completely empty so we'll go ahead and fill that up using DiskAid. We can select only a few songs by just selecting them while holding down the Command key on a Mac or the Control key on Windows; or you select a bunch of songs by holding Shift and clicking on the first and the last song and it'll select everything in between. What you can also do is select a specific genre, artist, or album to import. So let's go ahead and use the selection we have right here and we'll go up to the top of the window and select the Copy to Mac button. On Windows it'll probably be called Copy to PC. Now we can copy either just our selection which is 346 songs or we can copy over our entire library -- just over 2100 items. What's great about DiskAid is that to completely rebuild an iTunes library, DiskAid can transfer an items meta data like playlists, ratings, play and skip counts, and last played; so all of that data can still be transferred over. We'll stick with the songs we selected and now we can transfer it either directly into iTunes or into a folder or external hard drive, or something like that. But we'll stick to iTunes and now we can choose the meta data we want to be transferred. Click next and as you can see the process will begin and the songs will be transferred right into iTunes. While it's transferring the songs let me tell you a bit more about DiskAid. For playlists it will only add the missing songs to the playlists and if a playlist already exists, DiskAid will duplicate it and append the mention "DiskAid" to the end of the playlist name. From there you can choose which one to keep, rename it, merge them, or do whatever you want with it. Also, DiskAid has a duplicate detection feature so it can match existing tracks and avoid duplicates so that when you're consolidating different libraries from various devices you won't end up with multiple copies of the same song. But this feature can be disabled if you would want to do that for whatever reason. Okay, so you can see that the transfer has completed and we'll click Done in DiskAid and open up iTunes and you can see that the music we selected has all been added right back into the library. So the whole process is really that simple with DiskAid. Now to get DiskAid, you do need to purchase it for the full version. You can download the trial for free, try it out, and when it's time to buy a license head on over to www.DigiDNA.net/TechGeec and you'll get a 30% discount so instead of it being $30 it'll cost about $21 saving you $9 or so. But make sure to put that www in there otherwise you won't come to the discount page but I will have all of the links you'll need in the video description down below. Now when you buy it you can use it on both Windows and Mac and you can install it on up to 3 computers and get some other nice little features...

  1. Hey, there's a free way to do this, it's via AirMore. You can easily transfer music as well as other media files (picture, videos, etc). Grab it here https://itunes.apple.com/ph/app/airmore-wirelessly-transfer-photos-videos-to-pc/id997212086?mt=8

  6. I'm so confused. So i just bought the mac air, and trying to transfer all my music from my iphone 6 to my new mac. I thought that i could just sync my music, or actually everything that I have on my iphone to my mac through itunes? somehow, not sure how I did it, but some of my music did transfer thru itunes when i was first messing with it? Not even sure how I did it, but not all my music transferred? Can't i just turn on icloud, and transfer it that way? Or plug my iphone to mac with cord, and do it that way? Ugh! :(

  20. Hi. 2 questions. 1) your 30% discount.  How can I get it today?  It has been removed.  2) I'm trying to use the free trial.  When I get to the point to select the button "copy to Windows", there is no button.  There is a button "export to iTunes", but it's greyed out, so I can't click on it.  Thanks
