  4. will this method remove everything from the drive, making it as if its a brand new hard drive, because im gonna build a new computer soon, and i want to reuse my old hard drive from my last build as if it was completely new, instead of buying a new hard drive.

    I have used DBAN to nuke a hard drive ; and, I have also used a utility called " Photorec"
    to recover data from a 'wiped' hard drive.
    Probably the only secure way to wipe a HDD assembly is with a hammer and a large nail !

  9. It won't let me select a system and start....... Help please?!?! I tried using space to select and f10 to start like it said, but nothing is happening!
  10. So if I do this and have a CD to install Windows 7 will it allow me to reinstall, then update to windows 10.  I am having a shit of a time, installing windows 10. something about the updates.  So I want to start all over.

  12. Wiping 7 times is good but one good wipe. is all that's needed. Also dban doesn't wipe bad sectors; so if bad sectors happen to contain your dark secrets, someone else may be able to recover them if you sell or donate your wiped HDD.

  15. Help the boot load screen does t load it's just black... with a flashing dash mark iv burned the daban to dvd and inserted it but nothing loads. any advice???
