  1. Hi there, I am trying to upgrade my HD to the 850 EVO SSD. When I get to the disk utility, partition is grayed out. Any idea how to proceed? Thanks! :)
  2. Thank you for this great video. I had a 20 second white screen before booting after placing the ssd. I solved this by resetting the PRAM http://osxdaily.com/2010/11/15/reset-pram-mac/ Now it is booting really fast .
  3. If I'm already booting from an external HDD, can I just create a Time Machine backup on that drive, install the SSD, and then use the TM backup from the external after I format the SSD in Disk Utility?

I'm trying to figure this out. Or should I use the migration assistant?
  4. Hi I have two macbook air same year model. I want to transfer one sad to another. Not bothered about the data. If i just put that in the other one will it boot up okay?
  5. Hey listen man... how fucking DARE you create this video?I searched google extensively to ensure there are no helpful videos regarding cloning hdd in a macbook pro , and then after 1 hour i get hit with your video.. what are you trying to do here ? Why are you helping people???? #NewestFormOfGratitude ;)

  7. Hey .Hello...was very excited to try this...but...When I initialize and go to disk utility, 'Partition' is grayed out ie not an option. What can I do?
  8. thank you, your step to step tutorial was very helpful. I did my first upgrade and couldnt be happier !!
  9. When I connect my Samsung SSD 850 EVO via SATA, I click initialize but the drive appears as "ASMT 2115 Media" saying 'Uninitialized' and the "Partition" button is disabled. What do I do???
  10. Doesn't Carbon Copy Cloner copy the whole disk to your new hdd or ssd? Any way to just copy the OS?
  11. Where is the step 2 video?
  12. What is the device called that you plugged the SSD into then plugged into via USB?
  13. Question: Just purchase a Intel SSD5 . Do you think the process to clone and install the Intel disk is the same process that you used? I watched both part 1 and part 2 of your tutorials. Once I clone the new SSD I take it that I install this new SSD in the laptop and then just turn on and that's all ?
  14. Can i clone my mac air harddisk and then install on a macbook pro?
I bought a pro non retina and want to putt an ssd drive, then i want everything on my mac air, to go on to my mac pro.
    This seems the easiest way?
  15. so now that the ssd is cloned to the hdd, when booting, if you select the ssd, will the computer boot with all the programs just how it was left with the hdd?
  16. Hello uberDoward,
I plan on upgrading my Macbook Pro from a HDD to a SSD. Will I have trouble copying over all of my programs from my two partitions (Mac and Windows)?
  17. Hey Derek. Thanks for another a great video. Chose to do it this way.
Now im running on my new Samsung SSD 850 EVO, which has made a big difference positively!
    Keep up the good work!
  18. Thank you very much for the video, I really prefer Samsung 840 SSD, and all I'm hoping for MAcbook Pro 2016, that Apple give us an opportunity to be able to upgrade the HDD, I do find understand the PCIe 2.0-based SSD, but this way we don't have a chance to upgrade to what ever we want. I always been upgrading my previous MBP 2008, 2010, 2012, and I always upgrade it with latest SSD, but I feel I have stocked with rMBP 2013 because there is no company offer this time of PCIe 2.0-based SSD. Just thinking loudly, thank you for the video.
  19. I am upgrading my Macbook Pro late 2011 to Samsung 850 Evo, do I need to buy a new external drive to create a back-up or I can just use the old HDD internal drive as my back-up? What do you think of SuperDuper?
  20. Why is the 850 so much cheaper?

Also will this come with the power connector? and is that all you need to clone your drive? Other videos I have watched made it sound like you would have to purchase some sort of drive cloning device
