A video walkthrough on DOWNGRADING your Huawei Ascend Mate 2 North American model MT2-L03 from Lollipop to Jelly Bean. Link to downgrade file: http://www.noxtek.com/misc_files/MT2-L03/JB_Downgrade_Package.zip Instructions: 1. Extract the downloaded zip file somewhere on your computer's hard drive. 2. Power on your MT2-L03 and connect it to your computer and verify that you can access the SD Card. You MUST have a MicroSD card inserted in the phone to do this procedure! 3. On your computer Find the files you extracted in step 1 above and go into the 'Transfer Package' folder. You should see a folder named 'dload' there. COPY the 'dload' folder to the root of your phone's SD card. Wait until the copy process is complete. 4. Disconnect your MT2-L03 from the computer. 5. On your MT2-L03 go to settings and then Software Updater. Tap 'Menu' (at the bottom of the screen). Tap 'Local Update'. Tap 'Full Package: UPDATE.APP'. Tap 'Install' . 6. Your MT2-L03 will reboot into the EMUI update tool and will install the update (transfer) package. Once this is complete your screen will go black for 10 to 15 seconds, and then your phone will reboot back into Lollipop. 7. Reconnect your MT2-L03 to your computer. 8. On your computer, navigate to your MT2-L03's SD Card and DELETE the folder named 'dload'. 9. On your computer Find the files you extracted in step 1 above and go into the 'Main Package' folder. You should see a folder named 'dload' there. COPY the 'dload' folder to the root of your phone's SD card. Wait until the copy process is complete. 10. Disconnect your MT2-L03 from the computer. 11. On your MT2-L03 go to settings and then Software Updater. Tap 'Menu' (at the bottom of the screen). Tap 'Local Update'. Tap 'Full Package: UPDATE.APP'. Tap 'Install' . 12. Your MT2-L03 will reboot into the EMUI update tool and will install the downgrade main package. THIS WILL TAKE SEVERAL MINUTES! Once this is complete your screen will go black for 10 to 15 seconds, and then your phone will reboot. 13. Your phone will reboot into recovery mode. When the recovery menu comes up press the power button to 'Reboot system now'. 14. Your phone will reboot again and should come to a 'EmergencyData' screen. Tap 'Restore Factory Settings' and then tap 'Yes' near the bottom right of the screen. 15. Your phone will now reboot into a fresh installation of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean / EMUI 2.0 Lite. ALL DONE!!!

  1. also for some reason I had to remove the sd card to write the files on to it. But everything else followed to the t and it worked perfectly.
  2. thanks the upgrade wasnt much of an upgrade more of a downgrade. So followed your instructions and my phone works again. thanks. The biggest glitch i found was the wifi hotspot would not work on the 5.5. Even tried using the developer menu and allowing mock locations. No go. Big problem for me when I go to a motel and the wifi is crap. Want to use my phone and it wouldnt work.
  3. Sorry, the phone accesses the internal memory now. The downgrade is fantastic!!!!!! Thank you. Thank you!
  4. Hello Geek Redneck,

The downgrade worked awesome! There is one problem. My Ascend Mate 2 does not recognize the internal memory. It recognises the sd card, but not the internal memory. Any thoughts? The other features of the phone work perfectly.
  5. WORKS PERFECT THANK YOU!
  6. Hello. I've stumbled across this video about downgrading to Jellybean 4.3 on the HAM2. I'm following this guide to the letter and coming up with 'installation failed' error. I checked the 'Transfer Package' folder for the 'dload' folder, opened it up and there is nothing there. Is there a link you can direct me to for the Jellybean 4.3 ROM that has the contents of the 'dload' folder in it? Thanks for any assistance that you can provide. God bless!!
  7. What a great video series! I struggled updating to Lollipop. Even called the Huawei help line and they didn't do a very good job of explaining. I watched your video and upgraded with ease. Then, I hated the Huawei version of Lollipop. Not a fan of their UI. Back to your video, easy downgrade, and very happy! Thanks again!
