In this video we take a look at Neverware's CloudReady software, a custom build of Chromium OS that feels and behaves very, very similarly to the Chrome OS we see on officially licensed devices. Neverware's approach is unique in that they have a huge list of devices that are supported, the service is free for individual users, and the entire OS can run quite well from a USB drive. 1. I have this samsung notebok from 2010 and spec wise its really terrible. 1GB RAM and it has some sort of mobile type processor (Intel Atom) and basically its really slow. Windows ran horrible and I installed a linux OS. Some improvements but browsing was still horrible. So I tried Chrome OS and it runs like a charm. I mean still there are freezes once and a while and the performance isnt the best but its sure as hell better than Windows or Linux.

Highly recommend you give chromeOS a try if you have an old laptop, and see if you can also install an SSD on to it, that will really speed things up.
  2. My keyboard and touchpad wont work. and I dont have any wifi conection. Du you know why?
  3. I am using this on a dell mini inspiron 910. I am using the laptop to hook up to my tv and just watch like Netflix or YouTube. This video really helped because I didn't want to use linux but windows is way to slow. Thanks a lot!

  5. what is chrome os expect cloudready because.. i have trouble to install dualboot cause im using BIOS not UEFI
  6. I tried it, but I didn't like that every app I installed opened in the browser. It WAS very fast though (even on my 6 year old HP Pavilion laptop). I am not sure if I can get past the "run everything in the browser" thinking. I like standalone apps..guess I'm just old school. :)
  7. How did you get all those Apps running. I install it on a NetBook but can't seem to get those App. no clue how. Also the OS says I have under 500MB? I don't get it.
  8. hi,

  16. Installed this, after much deliberation, instead of Linux on an old core 2 duo laptop. I can't believe how smoothly it operates. It even installed multiple finger gestures that are work better than any PC-laptop I have used to date, which isn't saying much guess. I am so impressed that I may run this as a dual boot with Win 10 on my HP Elitebook....may.
