  1. I need help about installing. I don't have osx installed on my macbook because I bought this macbook with disk was removed. How can i be able to install osx on this machine. I have put an ssd in it but I've tried all key combination for internet recovery but no luck so far.
  2. Thank you very much
  3. yeah this is unnecessary, all you have to do is pop in a new SSD or HDD, press command + R and you can do the same thing you just did via Wi-Fi installation, no USB needed.
  4. Does anyone know if the Samsung 850 EVO 2TB will work for MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) OS: Sierra. Also do you need to partition and reformat the drive first?
  5. awesome works!,,, remember to format the new ssd first .. you can do it right there in the start up holding on option key.
  6. Dear friends, we need your help.
And so, my MacBook pro 2012 year.
I decided to change the HDD to SSD
I looked rollers, buy the CD, otvertochki and all that was needed.
And that's what I did and what it led to:
    1. Change the disc
    2. Open the Utilities to format it
    3. Start the system jump, all is well established, but it was the OS Mountain Lion
    4. I went through his uchetku, which is on the phone and everywhere, which by the way (perhaps for that matter) on the old disk I previously updated to Sierra
    5. Went to the App Store and is not able to upgrade to Sierra, wrote after the purchase, but there is that does not work out.

The question is how to make sure that I was on the new disk as the Sierra or completely move all the Old and OS from HDD to SSD.
  7. Many thanks,  this helped me although I had to 'format/initialise' new SSD first for things to work.t ..
  8. what if it's in the case of faulty hdd? will this work?
  9. Thanks Bro
  10. You did that really backwards.. you should have plugged in the new SSD via the adapater before removing the old HDD. With that, you can install OSX on the new SSD while running on the old HDD. Then all you have to do is put in the new SSD and you're ready to go.
  11. can i use an SD card instead of a usb flash drive to install the operating system
  12. does this work for yosemite?
  13. The system does not seem to recognise the recovery utility in the USB.
  14. tnx! dude....
  15. buddy i installed the way u told, nd error is occurring at the time machine back up.... "an error occurred while adding a recovery system to the destination disk"... ...... system=macbookpro 13,i7,8gb....... ssd=samsung 840pro...512gb
  16. Thanks heaps for this!
  17. with time machine is EASY! Don't even had to do that USB Assistant, cause U could start from internet and go directly go to Time Machine backup....duuuuuhh
  18. I would also recommend in OS X Utilities to go into the Disk Utility and format the new SSD to OS X Extended (Journaled) and make sure its a GUID partition table.
  19. How long does it take to boot the recovery from the usb ? Cause mine it takes ages.. its like 30min now on the apple logo screen with the gray loop
  20. So you just booted up the new sdd and backed up from time machine, you didn't need the mountain lion os from the flash did you?
