Install Windows via command line

In this video I show you how to install Windows 8/8.1 via the command line using diskpart, DISM, bootrec and bcdboot. We first need to partition the disk and get it ready for the Windows install, then we need to extract the install.wim file to the hard drive, and then create our BCD store. We are doing this all manual just because we can lol, but also because I had to and wanted to show others how.

  9. This worked for me on my windows 10 installation on a asus M5A78L-M/USB3. My SSD did not got recognized from my USB or DVD installation cus of UEFI mode I think. So the commands where are all the same except for my locations. Many thanks for this Video.

  14. I tried these steps with Windows 7 Pro 32-Bit... doesnt some to identify the installed OS when running bootrec /scanos... thoughts?

    Thank you so much for the video. Even over a year later it has helped.
    Now, can you tell me how to find the product key on my recovery disk? The key on the disk envelope will not work on booting up Win 8.1 and I can't repair either. Startup.exe does execute, but without the proper key, Win 8.1 will not reinstall.
