  6. i say 2-8 weeks for macbook and 1-3 weeks for iphone water damage and up to 12 weeks for things that are other than apple devices

  12. About the clamp, I use the 3rd hand, the one with two alligators on each side. Yes wrong clamp for the job, because you have to hit shields from sides, otherwise you can overheat the compound chips.
  13. I do not put shields back on, ever! Repair process of water damaged 5S-ses. Tear down, clean with tooth brush and benzine, try to start up. If no, take off all 3 shields (I use fan on 480, I hit it on sides and pull with tweezers, larger shield takes 20 seconds, the other two 10 seconds each). Then clean again, and try to start it up. 95% of the time this is all you have to do.
  14. Louis, you should check out PADS if you don't want to financially support a company like ZXW. I believe there are purchases that can be made through PADS but a lot of the schematics/board views are free. disclaimer: I haven't actually used it yet but there seems to be a lot of chatter about it to be a good (free) alternative to ZXW.
  15. I feel your pain. People often take the piss but I would block that persons number if I were you.
    When I was a young man I went to live with my girlfriend in a small village in the country. One of her friends had a washing machine that broke down and I fixed it for free. That was on a Friday night. On the Saturday morning I went outside to find five washing machines stacked along the side of the house. All with little notes telling me that they had broken down, who they belonged too, what the address was and asking me to not only fix them for free but to deliver them back to their owners when they were done. Each of the people got a note from me that said, Remove your machine from the side of our house by Monday morning or I would be taking a sledge hammer to it and then taking them to the scrap metal dealer and don't take the piss out of me again. By Sunday Morning they were all gone.

  19. I have an iPhone 5s that has been lying around in my closet for about a year. It was soaked in water. I let it dry off for 2 days then I plugged it in and tried to turn it on. The moment I plugged it in, I smelled something being fried inside it. I trust your thoughts on this, and any of them would be highly appreciated.

    Edit: I am willing to mail it to you if you're willing to give it a shot. You're free to experiment with it as much as you want and no I won't call you 13 times a day.
