ajeenahknj... you can do the ota just make sure you replace any bloatware apps if you removed them
If I'm rooted on Gingerbread .596 can I do the ota update or do I have to install the prerooted .602? New at this, thank you

Fritz 2ndinit Tom's will support the gingerbread kernel soon which should help with battery life... also apex will be updated soon
Cmedy...start by sbfing your phone back to stock froyo then download the 2partupdate from the link in the description, root via z4root , install d2bootstrap, reboot into clockworkmod recovery and flash part1and part2 then reboot the dx
PLEASE HELP-Need Gingerbread 4.5.602 update FILE. I just downloaded 4.5.56 just so I could get to .602 but of course it froze. I am about to do system restore but have the option to update from SD card so if I had the .602 file I wouldn't have to restore the whole phone. Where can I get file and then where exactly do I put it on SD card? MY ANDROID WORLD says they have it but file name they give you is 4.5.56. HELP! Thanks

Uncleebrown...Ok you can flash the 2 part .602 from the link in the description over .596 after a data wipe in clockwork... However you will still be on .12p baseband because the baseband update won't stick unless you are coming from froyo 2.3.340, so if you want the new baseband you will need to SBF back to froyo, then z4root, reboot into recovery via d2bootstrap and install 2 part patched .602... Wireless tether app won't work because it's blocked by vow unless you use the tbh tether patch
No ull have to use the tether patch, but it is traceable so I don't recommend it or use it
@DroidModd3rX You're saying it can or cant be traceable by verizon,And I updated from froyo yo gingerbread with root.The only problem i had was not being able to wireless thether.Once i did my reserch i found out it was a TBH patch that could fix the problem..once i did that it was perfect.I accepted the OTA 602 like an idiot thinking i would still have root but I dont.So im sbf back and starting over.My question is will I have thether once I update to .602 rooted?
Kevin you would have to use the tbh tether patch, but being as that is traceable by vzw and cant get your account cancelled, or worse I dont suggest using it. However all froyo roms support wireless tether app, or you can use pdanet on .602
