I had a problem where my Lenovo v570's one key recovery button would no longer boot into the recovery partition, and being windows was unbootable, I had to search for another solution to boot the recovery partition. Fortunately the Hirens boot CD had the tool necessary to get it going again. http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/

  1. Anyways, do you burn the installer of the hirensboot cd to the cd then insert it to the laptop?

  5. Hi, After I upgrade to the free win 10 OS my Lenovo ideacentre K410 no longer works the OneKey Recovery 7.0 features. Show me the following notice: The program cannot find the initial backup image. This function is currently unavailable. But when you use Diskpart.exe you can see the oem "recovery Partitio" of 25 Gb. I install the minitool partition wizard free version and show me that "lenovo_part" 25Gb capacity and 11.70 Gb used is there. Originally that PC comes with windows 7 home preinstalled and now if I want to recover to the initial oem state, I cann't cause the OKR function not works. If I use the hirens cd and everything works like the video, then the OKR button function can works when the pc state is in initial oem? Any hints or comments to fix that partition will be appreciate. Thanks a lot Steve for the video.
  6. Thanks for putting this together! I needed to restore a Lenovo V570 but the One Key button wasn't working just like you describe. It would only power up the machine. Using the Hiren's CD worked perfectly! Thanks!

  15. lenovo g505 recovery button is not working and solution
  16. cool deal thanks a lot you helped us out
  17. Excellent solution, you just saved me hours on hold trying to purchase the recovery DVD's from Lenovo ( HORRIBLE SUPPORT )
Thanks for the info on Hyrens Boot DVD info.
  18. I used YUMI to "burn" the Hirens boot cd iso onto a 2 GB flash drive. A system selection way down the list past linux was Hirens. I put flash drive in,, started Lenovo V570 laptop, pushed F12 to access boot select and chose flash drive to boot. Worked just like Steve described with a DVD copy. Other software for making bootable flash drives should also work.
  19. the problem seems to be the flag of the okr partition is not set as "recovery" you could fix that in windows using disk part in the console or in Linux using gparted.
