  1. whtas the recording program you using ? thank you
  2. I am trying to delete a secondary partition on my boot drive, but the minus button is greyed out.I am able to drag & increase space but it only creates an additional 'Untitled' partition.I want to increase the size of the original partition from which I boot.
  3. so that's why!!! I grew very crazy finding the old format, I thought my mac was getting crazy.
  4. I am new to formatting and partitioning, thought I broke my mac for a couple days because of the gray screen/no login issue after the system shut itself off according to my sleep setting during the format operation. When I tried to wake up the system I had to push the power button and it was all blank and I thought I just ruined a very expensive machine. It was a damaged peripheral cable apparently so after I unplugged all the crap it booted up like normal. So I need to find a video "Esplainink" what all the options, features, functions/whatever do. I think if I search the >20 min in length videos I should run across a full featured/in depth/cover everything video so I can ignore it while I get sidetracked and, hey, do you like fishing? Because omg...
  5. isn't the RAID assistant option in the file menu? that's where I can create RAID 0, RAID 1 and JBOD
  6. oooooh I hate this shit, there was nothing wrong with the disk utility in OS X Lion, why turn it into this awful cartoony piece of shit.
  7. what about restore tab? im trying to make a bootable usb and its hard to follow the tut im using cause they have all these options that i dont
  8. My partition button is greyed out and I can't click it. any advice? how to partition when I can't click partition.
  9. I have Windows installed on my Hard disk and I need to allocate more size to it because Its not booting up.
Is there any way to reduce the size of Macintosh HD partition and allocate the same on windows partition without using terminal commands?
  10. I can't get rid of drive all i can do is make them the only drive i can get rid of is my start up drive
  11. i lost and not detected my 2nd hard drive (replace my optical with hard disk) after installing this.. any solution?
  12. I'd like to resize a partition on a USB drive but when I press the Partition button I get:
The volume “MAC BACKUP” is not journaled. As a result it can not be resized. To enable journaling, cancel partitioning and use the “Enable Journaling” command under the “File” menu.
So, actually that volume which is the first one of 3 is formatted "OS X Extended (Journaled) with GUID Map. The Enable Journaling is grayed out so that's impossible anyway. Any ideas?
  13. Hey everyone, the greatest info that I have ever had was with the Mels Speed Method (just google it) definately the best treatment i've tried.
  14. I want to install windows on external ssd...but this disk utility is totally confusing. m unable to do partition. any help...?
    please
  15. How about secure erase?
  16. does everything from a disk get erased when the disk is unmounted? I have a second partition that is full of important data, i want to merge the two partitions without losing data, anyway to do that?
  17. I understand but i can't move anyrhing to my external hard drive why?
  18. Partition is greyed out.
What can I do to fix this.
  19. I have a disk images Icon for some reason, I thought it is because the disc I use to run windows 8 on the mac, but after I remove the disc, they will be still there, so I tried to delete them with no success, I will write the name

    " Apple UDIF read-only compressed (bzip2) Media "
and beneath it a grey coloured writings that say : 18.2 MB Disk Image External Physical Disk

so, what is it?, and how to delete them if they are extra

the very best OSX for me was Yosemite, no problems, nothing happened, I had every thing there, but now, every day comes a problem
