My IMac OS X (2008) is not reacting the same as you. whenever I do command R (i tried both command buttons), it goes to the gray screen with the apple logo (normal). Then, it goes on a blue screen for three seconds then logs on. Help please??

FYI if its STUCK on "SETTING UP YOUR MAC" like mine was do this n mine was fixed in 1 minute. After 30mins I did this n it worked(I love researching on Internet). Power off iMac. Wait a few secs. Press and hold SHIFT CONTROL OPTIONS. Then press n release the power button, then RELEASE SHIFT CONTROL OPTIONS immediately. Problem fixed.
POPUPSSS!!! CALL1888-888 blah blah. I am doing this cuz I had popups to call 1888blah its not a virus it's malware it redirects ur search engine n stops u from using safari or limits u n does some damage. So check this out, it's too smart theses damn criminals that when I went to pay online from site to download yearly subscription of McAfee antivirus to clean this malware up instead of manually looking for the infected folder to delete, guess what, it didn't allow me to buy the antivirus...wow omg like omg like like👀.. It took me to credit card info page n when I click agree to finish n pay it does nothing. The malware was stopping my iMac from any download or incoming activity that would fix it. So why am I babbling, cuz a factory reset was recommended to me from friends n computer stores. Even if u manually find it n delete it u might just be deleting a piece of it n it will come back sooner or later. So stop reading this n do what vid says. Be careful of what u back up also(scan files via antivirus programs later) cuz u might factory reset Mac, bop ur head dancing, then install the files u backed up later in time that might contain the malware or virus n be right back at yoU-tubing how to factory reset again::dramatic music playing::if ur still reading this then 👀👀👀cuz I'm passing time via iPad waiting for this "setting up your Mac..." To finish. It's been like 30 mins it claims to be setting up my Mac after I did allll the vid said to do n now I'm worried cuz it's still setting up. I'm at the final step waiting n waiting n scratching my third leg👀👋✌✌
Anyone who need internet recovery because of the "Temporary unavailable try again later". Shutdown and restart.... hold down Command+Option+R – if you see the Apple logo you waited too long and need to reboot and try again. You should see a globe.
It is reset all only settings right?
