Had this happen to me today. Really sucks. I pay for something then get screwed out of it. Can't even get in touch with tech support. None of my options work.

As if we had any doubts, Microsoft is still working diligently to degrade the already deplorable notion of "support" that they offer. To be fair, both of these statements are equally true:
Toshiba sucks.
Microsoft sucks.
It;s pointless to argue over which one of these lame companies should be providing the solution to a paying customer,and legal owner of the rights to Windows 7. Microsoft is mystified why Apple is "cool" and they're not? Their policies and treatment of their paying customers is the worst I've ever experienced, bar none.
I'm forced to use MS in lieu of either Linux or OS X due to corporate requirements, but it's policies like this that make me despise them and hate that I'm in such a captive environment. I feel doubly stupid for actually paying for every license I hold. A company this sleazy and unwilling to provide even minimal support does not deserve honorable (paying) customers. -
Just encountered this problem today.
Is this some marketing-thing to force users to upgrade or what? I really don't get it. -
