  1. Seeing a lot of comments regarding the compass in this phone. The G5 Plus I tested has a magnetometer (compass) and it works just fine! It appears that the standard G5 (i.e., NOT the G5 Plus) lacks a compass. The G5 Plus does include it.

  3. I still have the Moto G from 2013 and used it eversince as a glorified mini tablet with no phone line.

    The screen is still amazing for $ 99 locked to Verizon. We have a 720p Lumia 5 inch budget phone and that 720p screen doesn't even compare to the 2013 one. The 2013 G seem to have 99 SRGB.

    I had the Moto E 544p screen for 10 bucks and was reported to be 99 sRGB too but the screen is so dull even after messing with Apps that change RGB settings.

    I am baffled that I can't find a 2017 phone for $ 99 that has 1080p and well calibrated even if the other features aren't good like camera, system specs. :(
  4. I think it's a bit weird to have a home button/touchpad but no buttons to the left or right of it.
  5. Yes, I think it's becoming to look like a regular Lenovo phone... Which is not necessarily good... :(

  7. We now know the Galaxy S8's camera sensor is the same as the S7.....so it's hard to believe you can now buy, a Moto G5 Plus for $185 (Amazon Prime) with the SAME camera sensor. How much is the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus going to cost? This is getting crazy. Safe to say, camera sensor technology advancements, are beginning to slow down....which is bad for high cost flagship phones. Phones are commodity items and the tech in entry/mid-range phones...is catching up..

  13. My ol' trusty Moto G2 is dying, so I'm shopping around and I'm trying to sit through entire reviews of phones on YouTube. I did that to get my G2 and it was worth it in the end. I think I'm just going to get the G5 plus at this point because in spite of all my attempts yours is the only review that I've been able to get myself to sit through without feeling the urge to close the tab 3 minutes in. Great job, as always!
  14. Great review. I absolutely agree with the last statement. Everytime I see a Lenovo Moto I remind myself, "you're just gonna put a case on it anyways; the design won't matter."

  16. I hope I didn't make a mistake with buying my phone after watching so many reviews I decided to go with the Moto X pure... I bought an LG V 10 and had to return it because it started boot looping after 3 days. Now I'm wondering if I should return it and get the G5... Would appreciate any advice...
  17. I wanted to get this for my parents but micro USB stopped me from getting it.. I wanna universal charging port in my home don't want different cables for everything if only it has USB type c well now it's gonna be oneplus 4 or 5 whatever it's gonna be called
