How to do a Alternate factory data reset on a Motorola Moto X Alternate Reset (If you forgot your lock code or phone crashing due to app or cannot power up or boot up device.) Factory Data Reset is the Same as a Hard Reset or Master reset except these steps are when the phone is Off. Make sure phone is OFF. Press and hold the Volume down key and Power button for 3 seconds and then release From the "Boot Mode Selection Menu" screen, select Recovery (You use volume down to scroll and volume up to select the option) From the "Android system recovery" screen, press and hold the Volume up key then press and release the Power button to display the menu options. Select wipe data/factory reset. (You use volume buttons to scroll and Power key to select) Select Yes -- delete all user data. (You use volume buttons to scroll and Power key to select) **Wait until it states Data wipe complete Select reboot system now. (You use volume buttons to scroll and Power key to select) Factory Reset thru menu options (if you are able to use the phone) From a home screen, select Apps From the "APPS" tab, select Settings. From the "PERSONAL" section, select Backup & reset. From the "PERSONAL DATA" section, select Factory data reset. Select Reset phone. Select Erase everything. (device will turn off and then back on after a few minutes) The Moto X models are either the Xt1060, MotoX, xt1056, xt1053, ot the xt1055.   18. i have moto xt1052 (EU) , i get to the no command screen with dead andriod, then the "secret menu" is impossible to reach, it either does nothing pressing these buttons, or it just turns off, ive full battery also
  19. i press recovery and it says boot up failed /: also the moto x i have crashes all the damn applications at once and fails to boot back, i have to go through the start up screen again nd input everything from scratch
