Nikon View NX2 software basics tutorial

A few people have asked for this, so here is a very basic overview of this free piece of software that is supplied with Nikon DSLR cameras. It allows you to edit, arrange and export your images, from the native Nikon.NEF file to JPG or Tiff. Its a basic peice of software with limited editing facilities, but for the most part, will do the job well. Joanna here with another annoying question. i have a small nikon j1. i lost the disks for the software or whatever it was for and I'm trying to start a channel with this small little camera. what software can i use so that i can adjust the lighting while filming ? ive seen many beauty gurus have those type of software for their cameras would anyone know if the j1 has one too or would i just have to stuck it up and record a video blindly?
  2. Hi Tom: Nice video. My question is what is how does a person decide what is best to edit pictures in View NX2 before sending them to Capture NX2 or another photo editing software program (like Lightroom, PS, etc)?

  3. OK, all very good however my computer advises that I have downloaded ViewNX2 but it is not listed as a program. Further with the camera being connected to the computer the program does not appear on the camera screen. I know this is probably somewhat even more basic a question than you usually get but please help.

  10. Hi Tom. Thank you for your tutorial. In Lightroom as you edit a picture you can push 'y' which brings up both the unedited picture and the same edited picture side by side so that you can compare before and after. Sorry, hope that makes sense! Is this option available in View NX2. Thank you

  12. Thanks for making this very informative video. I found it very useful being new to picture editing and perhaps down the road I'll try one of the more advanced editors such as light room.
