Here is the Orico tool free 2.5" hard drive 3.0 enclosure. I got this from Amazon for $12.99 and it's available in other colors like, silver, yellow, black, blue and red. In this video I make an external hard drive from my PS4 500GB hard drive I replaced. But you guys can use this with any laptop hard drive, including SSD as well. i just bought mine but my phone doesn't read it..what software did u use to format the drive?
i bought the same case to put ps4 hdd in it, running windows 10 and it's not recognized by any app to format the hdd, help please

I read that you need external power if the harddrive is over 200GB and then good for drives upto and including 1TB . But does not seem to have a socket for external power
I can tell you what that cushion was for. The drive you used was 9.5 mm. Had you used a thinner 7 mm SSD for example, there would be extra space between the drive and cover. So that's where the cushion would go. You didn't need to use it here. Now it's stressing the connector like +nhs2008NC said.
Does this work for Xbox?

Hi Mark maybe you can help me with this problem I bought a similar hard drive enclosed for my PS4 hard drive. Problem is that after I enclosed it and then I plugged into my windows PC it will let me Format it ! it doesn't even register on the screen. it does turn on cause I can see a little Blue light.
i will buy this enclosure because i like the way it's configured so i'll pay the $7 now the questions is this i'm replacing my 80gig from my mac book from early 2006 to a 500gig western digital that came from a pc laptop with the new hard drive just choose the option in this video? the seller said it was wiped clean already and formatted. it may be formatted for windows not sure it hasn't came in the mail. then after i clone the drive i want to wipe the 80gig and make it an external. how do i format the 80gig to work as an external on wins/mac?
DO NOT BUY ORICO. I had 2 cards from them. Both failed quickly. Sent mails to Orico. They did not reply for 2 months! Will not honour their warranties. Dealers simply refuse to help.

You put the cushion on wrong side! You should put it on Cover. Now its stressing the connector as you plug the HDD in.
Does anyone know how to do this on a Windows 7? My old PS4 HD is in the 3.0 enclosure the 2tb one came in that i put in the PS4. Now when i plug the PS4 500gb HD into my Windows 7 it comes up as Seagate BACKUP+ USB Device Properties. It won't show up under the disk management list.

Great review, I have the same hard drive and like one of the comments below 3 of my computers won't recognize it so I can format it. It's coming from my ps3. Has anybody fixed this issue without having to buy a new enclosure?
