In this tutorial we'll show you how to create a bootable/installable copy of OS X 10.10 Yosemite and put it on a USB Flash drive. This is a great solution for offices, busy business professionals, and computer geeks alike. This trick will save you potentially hours compared to having to download a fresh copy of Yosemite every time you need it. In this tutorial, David will show you how to download OS X Yosemite from Apple, use code in Terminal to access the files we'll be working with, and then load it onto a USB flash drive so that it is bootable. Recommended Flash Drives: 8gb Mode (goes on your key ring!)l: http://amzn.to/1uB006w 8gb Patriot XT Model: http://amzn.to/1y5m0bo Prefer a USB Hard Drive? 1. hey david thanks for the great video but i have a question. what the difference between this method and the other methods on your channel like using a backup from a Time Machine or clone using CCC program ?

  3. Thanks man great video, helped a lot, saved my day :)
  4. For those of you guys running El Capitan,
    >open to "BaseSystem.dmg" file then it will show up in Disk Utility.
    >Select the Thumb Drive
    >Go to Edit > Restore.
  5. For those having issues dropping BaseSystem.dmg in disk utility: double click BaseSystem.dmg from original folder, then head over to Disk Utility. You'll see it's there. From there, go to USB, restore, and restore from OS X Base System
  6. Greaaattt the only clear Tuto on Web ;) thanks it works great

  9. You're the best!
  10. I see a lot of videos of how to make a bootable usb flashdrive for el Capitan, but I want a make a dmg and clone that later to a flashdrive whenever I need to so i can use the flashdrive normally. It follows similar steps like in this video and at the deleting of the Packages alias I get stuck as I am unable to delete it on my Sierra iMac. The terminal command only shows hidden files, but I guess I need to make my BaseSystem.dmg unhidden before I can delete anything. If possible I would want to make multiple OS X dmg on a single flashdrive. Is that even possible?
  11. You saved my day! Very good, thank you!
