Dave Grohl is a brute-force password cracker for Mac OS X. Version 2.0 now works with Mountain Lion and Lion. http://www.davegrohl.org Mountain Lion has a new super-awesome password encryption that makes DaveGrohl hella slow, but it works. I would also recommend adding John the Ripper to your tool belt as well. John has GPU support now, but I haven't tested it so don't yell at me if it sucks. ...that said, don't yell at me if Dave sucks. I know it sucks :) http://www.openwall.com/john/

1. whenever i type in the sudo -u command and type in my user (just testing things out to see how it works) it says:

I know it might seem counter-intuitive or silly to use a password cracker if you're already root, but password crackers are usually intended for sysadmins to test the strength of their users' passwords. The forces of evil use password crackers because they want to use your password to log into all your other stuff. Both of these assume you already have root access. I wrote Dave purely for shits and giggles and just hope someone finds it useful or amusing :)
5. err... sudo crack user's password ? I guess the first part involves some social engineering :)
