Today I setup a new PC and prepare it ready for imaging with WDS & MDT 2013 (Microsoft deployment toolkit, and windows deployment services). Watch as I unbox and setup the PC ready to be imaged and used. I prestage this PC in AD (Active directory) and show briefly how to image using PXE boot and MDT. You'll SEE THE SERVER ROOM! I have to say that this video did make me facepalm a few times, please explain me why you didn't turn your MDT deployments into zero-touch, its really not that hard and saves a enormous amount of time. also the windows and office activation can both be triggered by running a command as one of the last steps of your task sequence: cscript %windir%\system32\slmgr.vbs /ato
    and for office you can run: %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office14>cscript ospp.vbs /act or %ProgramFiles(x86)% depending on your office installation.
    Also to skip the logon display message you could add the computer to a AD group in the start of the install ex: mdt_install. and deny the group policy to apply to that group. than at the end of the task sequence you delete the machine from that group. also by running commands from the task sequence itself.
    Also for office asking for name and initials that can be easly fixed by making a login script that sets the HKCU variables by using %username% and %username:~0,1% to get the initial. or look at this post to get the actual firstname and/or lastname to use: https://blog.thesysadmins.co.uk/create-environment-variables-from-active-directory.html

  8. I love your video's,  they are well made and thought out. I also like seeing you mess around in AD lol, AD is awesome when it works.

  10. Add with a couple of lines when you have to rebuild you can make it display the previous name and saves you trying to find out what it was
  11. You can also set the default resolution in the custom settings.ini file aswell.
  12. You can add all the detail to the mdt custom.ini file then you can get it to go directly to the computer name

    Saves time.
