RAID 0/1/10 are the simplest forms of RAID for hard drives and SSDs. This brief overview aims to give you a basic understanding of how they work FORUM LINK: http://linustechtips.com/main/news-reviews-article-guides/linus-videos-news-and-ramblings/47101-temporary-thread-for-tech-quickie-video-suggestions

  1. id like a Fast As Possible about iLO / DRAC.
because you are the only 1 i understand ;)
  2. Is there is a way/software to recover data from EX4 formatted RIAD 0 OR RAID 1 HD. Without having to seek professional help.
  3. Drobo
  4. Im confused, I have 2 drives, one 128GB SSD and one 1.5 TB HDD. Would that work with RAID 0?
  5. I thought raid 1 gave you better write speeds on account of it still being able to read off multiple drives
  6. I'm pretty sure Raid 10 is pronounced "Raid one zero"
  7. great source of quick info about the RAID system
  8. Did you know that there's also raid 970. Sadly it only gives 3.5/4gb of storage though.
  9. So if I did 3 x Western Digital 4TB HDDs (12TB), what would be the safest RAID for me?
  10. raid 0 = 0
    raid 1 = 1
    raid 10=2
    Binary too strong!
  11. Great!
  12. They keep saying is very unreliable and I partially understand why they say that. If one drive fails, all data can become useless. But I have HDD's that have been running without problem for over ten years. That doesn't sound super unreliable to me. :/

Does RAID somehow wear the drives out faster?
  13. so... say I have three drives, named drive 1,2,3. 1 and 2 are ssd and 3 is hdd. Is it possible to have RAId 0 between drive 1 and 2 and then raid 1 between 1+2 and 3?
  14. Inexpensive?  You mean Independant
  15. Good explaination
  16. thank you. I love when info is delivered pronto.
  17. I currently have an MSI GS70 2PE Stealth Pro gaming laptop. I'm finally upgrading and building my own my own gaming computer. I was wondering if it's possible to move one of the SSDs from my laptop to my new desktop? Currently my laptop has 3 SSDs running in Raid 0. I don't know much about the technical side of things, so I was just curious if it was possible to move all my data from the 3 SSDs to 2, and then safely remove the third one without losing any data? (Side note: I currently have all the data from the SSDs backed up to a portable hard drive.) Any help or advice would be very appreciated, thank you!

(Don't know if the following information will help but: )
    Drive: C:
    Free Space: 193.3 GB
    Total Space: 364.8 GB
    File System: NTFS
    Model: Intel Raid 0 Volume
  18. first time setting up raid.  when setting up raid do all the drives need to be the case size and speed?  can this be done for RAID 10.  3 of m.2 evo 960 256gb and a single 2tb 7200rpm HDD to mirror all 3 m.2?
  19. raid 10 is basically a raid 1 of raid 0s right?
  20. If you are using RAID, than the name has mocked you... Redundant Array of Inexpensive Drives (Unless you are using expensive drives on your RAID, it's save for you to say... Fuck You RAID's Name Founder!)
