  3. This worked like a charm on an old 500 gig western digital passport I had dropped months ago. Transfered over 300 gigs worth of videos and photos in no time. Make sure you make a new folder for busted hdd backups in the folder you extracted the application in to. This worked 100% for me. Didnt even make it past 20 seconds in the video and used the application. That easy. Thanks a million!
  4. Data recovered, but in strange un-useful formats.. all came as .boot or .dat and similar useless formats.
    I'm using Windowa 7 64-bit and Toshiba HDD 500 GB (Dead hard drive)
  5. can't even get the computer to recognize the USB drive, Windows 10
    refuses to connect USB and the software doesn't recognize the drive
    either. Tried this one and a few other software and nothing so far.
  6. When I tried testdisk with ubuntu, I got this error: cannot open testdisk.log permission denied. What did I do wrong?

    Bios SEES HDD WINDOWS NOT.

  16. Really guy? Your hard drive is not dead! I demand you take the word dead out of your video title! No files show up, whatsoever, on a dead hard drive. I have enough work ahead, that I don't need to waste time Googling how to recover a damaged hard drive.

  18. Hey man. So my laptop took a harsh fall and now its having a boot failure, I checked the BIOS and it can detect the drive but it just wont boot up. So if the fall had anything to do with the booting problem... What kind of damages did it do on the drive and can I still recover files from it? Please help Im very new to this
