  1. How can we fix the CRC error? Whats the purpose of the video of you have no solution.
  2. Is this really works or NO? Who have tried this? Because I have 4TB went to RAW and became Error and Computer says: need to format. I have lot of files/data in my computer and those are really important to me, mostly the website files.
  3. For me this happened after shrinking the main partition, the second newly made partition wasn't most likely capable of finishing the formatting, ending with the raw partition.

This was fixed by connecting the HDD to a GParted Virtual machine, taking no actions.

(it will display errors while reading the hdd)

    Eject from the vm
Unplug it from the host if it doesnt load at this point.

    Plug it back in.

The raw partition will now appear as normal (backup files if needed.), format it from explorer.

    Done.
  4. Excellent, resolved my issue. Thanks!
  5. when i enter the next button and it show scan for drivers and i am stuck at that point . i am facing the same issue my wd external drive j is showing but cant open the drive and its not showing bytes as well.
  6. Wow!! That is exactly what I've experienced so far.
    - I tried CHKDSK first of all. That's when I discovered that the drive is RAW. :(
    - I then tried numerous Data Recovery and Partition Recovery tools. Some failed during the Scan process. Some produced reports saying disk is badly corrupted. One of the programs took over 8 hours to complete scanning a Western Digital 1TB hard drive. :(
I've tried the following without success:
    Active@
    Stellar Phoenix
    EaseUS
    Recuva
Western Digital's own Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool
Partition Magic is no longer available but I've used that in the past.

GetDataBack I've used in the past, but I thought one of the other applications fixed the problem much quicker. I was wrong it seems. :(
So now I will install GetDataBack and see if that will work for me too.

    Thanks spinnero.
