This video shows you have to recover accidentally deleted files using the free data recovery tool Recuva. In this example I'm recovering pictures deleted off the memory card of a digital camera but this tool can also work on computer HDDs.

1. Yes, 100%.  There might be a pay version but the free version has been able to recover files for me most of the time.
