Head swap procedure on the drive that is no longer recognized requires skill, head dismounting tools, and specialized imaging equipment that can change reading commands to adopt to hard drives condition.   3. seagate is shit. my hardrive was the one you plug in to a electric socket. about two years later it began to crash and then eventually corrupted all my favourite data

  5. seagate is a complete con - I've had my device for just a couple of months and its never left my house. I bought a new mac and saved all my data on the seagate only copying files for last 12 months on to the new mac. 10 years of data were left on the Seagate device, which now won't work. The recovery price is £495? WT*....... A complete rip off Seagate - how can you get away with this?

  10. I don't imagine this is cheap.  You need to get an identical drive to donate the heads, then another drive to copy the data onto, plus labour, etc...

  18. How about i send you the 4 discs i removed from our 4 tithe seagate harddrive. Can you extract the data? And whats the cost? Removing discs and heads is not that hard you just really have to be careful about everything as it's to delicate to do so. Thanks let me know.
