VLC Media Player - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ CD Recovery Toolbox - http://www.oemailrecovery.com/cd_recovery.html If you use DVDs to record audio/video of your sessions, you might have encountered a time when the disc was unplayable after recording. Often, this is due to the "session" not being closed properly on the disc. One common way in which this can occur is by hitting the EJECT button before the STOP button on the DVD recorder while recording. On some DVD recorders, hitting the STOP button finishes the operation of writing the audio/video data to the disc and inserts some extra data on the disc that marks the recording session as closed. If the EJECT button is pressed before STOP, the write-out operation may not fully take place and the session may not be properly closed. Fortunately, the bulk of your audio/video data still remains on the disc, but since the disc is in an improperly formatted state it typically cannot be read through conventional means. Luckily, there are ways to extract the data that does exist on the disc.

  1. Hope this helps me. The other day I had to completely recover my computer system (restore to factory settings) having first done the right thing and ensured that all my files were saved to a disk. But guess what since? I put the disk back in the computer and it refuses to open up and let me use the files (other cds and dvds working fine by the way). What on earth have I done wrong? The answer is I have used supposedly good quality disks from reputable stores. The only disks which have never corrupted themselves/broken in my experience have been those bought from pound/cheap shops. I know which disks I shall be sticking with in future. The inexpensive ones. What a con the pricier ones are.
