  3. Best in it's class "Image for Linux". Works on Linux and PC $29.00 Best money you'll spend Super fast and world flawlessly... https://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm
  4. Thanks!  Perfect for backing up a new laptop in case something goes wrong later.
  5. Hey there Steve, hopefully we can help ya out. It sounds like your system is booting to your hard drive by default still (instead of your CD). Is your BIOS setup to have the CD drive be your first boot device? On some systems, during boot you can press a key (different on many systems) to bring up a boot selection, where you can manually select the CD drive.
  6. It "should" backup the entire disk, including GRUB and both partitions. Of course I would fully test it first before relying on it.
  7. XP sample shown, to & from CD. Windows allows this if the hardware has only a few hardware changes. Too many hardware changes - and it will not work (stops pirating; so need to re-register with M$ if 'strange' hardware). Need to try myself, without any CD, DVDs; USB flash drive offline storage only.
  8. If you select a partition, it will back-up the entire partition at a disk image level, meaning yes, it will keep everything in tact.
  9. Will this also keep the files of the partitions and everything as well??
  10. This is perfect for you. It works really well... it will make a complete disk image.
  11. Hello, I am downloading Redo and not sure if that is what I need. I am looking to backup my computer with a free program. Do you have any suggestions?
  12. Ahhh lol... gotcha
  13. At one point you said pause the tape, surely your camera is recording to an SD card or HDD? I'm just curious as to which generation will be thoroughly confused how "tape" interacts with video.
  14. What?
  15. "Pause the tape", when do you think we'll reach the point where you have to explain this "tape" business.
  16. Hi! How does windows license effect the back up? Can you make one back up of ,lets say Windows 7, and restore it on multipe computers?
  17. @The3DComputerMan Well, if you are just talking files, it's pretty easy to back-up the files you want. If you are talking about applications that you installed, thats a different story. I really haven't looked that up before, but there probably is something out there in that scenario.
  18. @PCAddictsLive is there software for i can do that?
  19. @The3DComputerMan No, this will reinstall vista, exactly as it was when you made the backup.
  20. ok can i do this backup on a vista computer then install install windows7 then restore my files or will it reinstall vista?
