Repairing Your Mac Hard Drive in Disk Utility

This is a Quick Tutorial on how to repair your Hard drive in Disk Utility. Note that all of this can be done by rebooting and running Disk Utility off the disk. If there is anything that Disk utility can't repair on mac it will almost always be able to repair it by running Disk Utility off the Mac OSX Install Disks (Update) I try to respond to all your questions and comments as best I can but I have a full time job :) Anyone that has knowledge feel free to comment or link to other helpful videos!   9. I just ran verify disk and it's unmounted my OS Hard drive. and all my data is now gone. any suggestions? My Mac OS drive is now unmounted as well. FML.
  10. Hey very useful video. I have a question and i'm hoping you can help me out. My cousin wanted to watch live soccer for free from my macbook air and as he clicked to watch a game he found a downloader setup mac dmg and i'm guessing this is a malware or something like that. I want to get rid of it but it wont delete. I even went to Finder and hit secure trash remove but I went to Disk Utility and it's there so I dont know what to do. I hope you can help me. Thank you.
  11. Can you help me please ? My mac just fell on the side it seems to be working fine but I am worried that it might have its hard disk ruined . Why ? Because every time It fell it seemed to be working fine but then after i turned it off and on again it stopped working. Now i clicked onto the disk unity repair 2 times and they say everything is okay . What should I do should I turn my computer off or is it a way to fix this ?

  19. If you go through this process and get a red "this volume cannot be repaired" message, are you just SOL? I'm using disk utility to try and make a MacBook complete a boot by the way.
  20. Why can't "Repair Disk" be selected n Macintosh HD unlike in the HD above it? What's the difference of Macintosh HD and the HD above it? What should I be just doing? Thank you :)
