The best thing to use for this is Kali Linux but you can use any linux distro. You may need to do this if you have forgotten your windows password and while it is not technically a windows password recovery method it will bypass the need for a pasword.   3. Thanks for this. I just bought a laptop from some one and they did not give me the PW, so I can't reset it back to factory. I've been working on expanding my linux skills and this video was very helpful.

    Also have you ever tried the live (forensics mode), I tried using that because of some of the guides I've been reading but every time I launch it from my usb it goes to the Kali gui. The guides say it is supposed to go to a terminal (like windows safe mode /w command prompt). Have you ever run into this and if so did you find a fix for it?

  7. took me some trial and error to get the drive accessible through Kali. The drive in question was in safe mode so when I tried to mount it in Kali I got an error. I booted from the drive again and went to shutdown from the PW screen. Booted back into Kali and BAM it worked. GREAT VIDEO saved my butt! thank you

  12. hi everyone ,if anyone else wants to uncover forgot login password on laptop try Alkarno Password Alchemist (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my mate got amazing success with it.
