In this tutorial video, I show you how to completely restore your Mac from a Time Machine Backup. This is typically done if you've replaced a failed hard drive or if you're upgrading to a new hard drive. I go through how to partition the new drive and restore everything from your backup. Note: this is only done if you're restoring to the same computer the backup was from. This should work the same way with all OS's that have Time Machine which is Leopard and after. There might be some differences in the screens but the process is the same. Follow me: Website: http://geekouttech.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/JakeGeekTech

  1. give me link of downlode time machines
  2. Awesome! Many thanks!
  3. Will this also install my apps on to a new hardrive that has had the OS re-installed? I have heard backups will restore files and folders but not apps like Adobe CS or Word, etc. Is this correct? I really don't want to have to re-install all my apps.
  4. How do I create a Bootable USB for a Mac Mini
  5. This is great. Will this process work on Sierra and on a Mac Mini TMB for an SSD Upgrade? Thanks much
  6. I only see internet recovery.
  7. Installing brand new HD because of failure on old one...I don't have a boot drive....how do I continue?
  8. Do i need to erase the internal hard drive when entering the utility mode? or just make 1 partition ?
  9. Now I have done the partition part and it deleted EVERYTHING. Now on the "select a backup source, it cannot find anything and now every app, every setup is gone. Wtf!?
  10. I am trying to do this but when I click the hard drive, it doesn't open up that window but instead the apple logo appears and then a "not working" meaning logo (i have no idea what it's called) and then it restarts without restoring it. I honestly have no idea what to do. Please help :(
  11. Anybody else stuck with the white reboot screen? It's a nightmare. Tried everything, but clean install.
  12. Why do we need to use the disk utility at the beginning??? You don't explain!!
  13. so i followed the video and everything worked until the restart. it froze and after about 6hrs of waiting i manually shut it down. then tried to start it and it gets stuck at the apple logo. any suggestions?
  14. So helpful, Thanks!
  15. any idea if your directions still apply with current OS? (El Capitan)? And I'm not doing it for the reasons you mention but get back to a workable WIFI. Apple keeps screwing up wifi connectivity with newer versions, a problem well documented by everyone except Apple.
  16. I'm have trouble with adding my 850 pro Samsung onto my Macbook pro
2010, perhaps you might know the answer? I upgraded my firmware, backed
up my computer on an external hd with time machine, installed the ssd,
and when I turned it on I plugged in the time machine hd, held down
option, and all I got was a blank screen with my mouse running around it
trying to find something to click... I'm thinking my computer didn't
know where to turn to reboot. Am I right and do I just need to plug in
my old internal hd via a usb port to boot her up, or might you see
another reason why this is happening?
  17. Woah! Where are all your warnings?! You know Mac users are like beginner level computer users! You need to tell them to hold shift while powering on, back up what they currently have, then restore afterwards. This way they can stillget anything theyve made (irreplacable manuscripts, videos etc) afterwards. The bulk of this tutorial should have been about a pre-restore backup. Totally irresponsible video.
  18. was your backup drive connected via usb 2.0?
  19. "Then im jealous" lmfao
  20. Thank you so much. I just upgraded my mid 2010 MacBook Pro to a SSD and this video guided me through with ease.
