Restore from an Apple Time Machine backup using Internet Recovery. An easy way to boot up your Mac from the Internet and restore your entire system when upgrading to a new SSD drive or replacement hard drive. You do not need to boot up from an existing USB external drive, flash drive, buy third party software, use a recovery partition or DVD media. This should work for Mid 2010 Mac models and later that have updated to at least Lion Mac OS 10.7.x. LEARN TO BECOME A WHIZ OR AT LEAST LOOK LIKE ONE! 3. Hi, Thanks for the video, but it didn't work for me.. I installed a new sad on my iMac, and i tried this method. It boot up fine, and then the global sign with the bar shows. It didn't ask me to choose internet or put in password at all. The time indicator under the bar always shows 24:00. I waited for about 30 mins and nothing changed. The hard drive sounds pretty loud after 10 mins so i gave up. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
  4. This worked for me. I didn't have a 8GB usb to make a usb bootable OS. Only thing was that on the screen where it asked to select a destination disk/drive it couldn't find my drive. What I had to do was go into disk utility > choose my SSD > Click options and made sure it was "GUID Partition Scheme", select Partition 1 to use the entire SSD, made sure it was of type "Mac OS Extended (Journaled) > applied changes --> closed disk utility. Now on the screen that asks to select your destination drive i was able to find my SSD. Hope this helps someone else.
  5. Hi there, thanks for your video! Unfortunately, my MacBook Pro asks for a Wifi Point and after logging into it, it goes back to the Wifi selection bar and nothing happens. (Ethernet is ignored as well) Any ideas?
  6. Excellent tutorial, thanks
  7. Hey, iMac 27" Mid-2010. Mine opens the Internet recovery then has a download bar of about 15 minutes. After that, it displays the apple logo, but nothing spinning for hours... anything I can do? (Erased my HD by accident while trying to go back from El Capitan to Yosemite from a non-updated tutorial video. When I saw it was actually re-installing El Capitan, I turned off the computer, that was a bad idea).

It's kinda frustrating, even though I did not lose too much, I would at least appreciate to be able to open my computer lol. Help if possible!
  8. if im in mac os x Yosemite and I do this will it downgrade me to snow Leppard?
  9. Hey can I ask you something? I have something similar to Damiel. I kind of delete everyhing and I have no partitions what so ever to access to, so I tried to enter in Recovery by internet by it never even loads, It ask me to choose a wifi network and then it stays like that until it gives me this 2002F error. Ethernet isn't an option either I tried and it doesn't recognise it. Any ideas of how to reintall all my mac? I have no data so I'm kind of looking something that resets everything. But recovery doesn't load :(. I read what you gave Damiel but I can't go to terminal, I can't acces anything else other than that Spinning Globe called Recovery by internet. Hope you can help me XD
  10. Thank you very much for your assistance. I'll try again next week because I'm away now.
