This is how easy it is to restore a Windows Phone to the most recent official operating system using the Windows Phone Recovery Tool. No hacking necessary. Microsoft actually gives you the ability to install beta releases of their operating system as well as this tool that can easily revert your phone back to the current official release. In this case I was running Windows 10 Build 10166 preview. Usually I'll run one of these preview builds for a weekend to test it and give feedback to Microsoft of any known issues on my device and then restore it to the current stable version for the work week. However Windows 10 Build 10166 was working good enough that I ran it for over a week now. It isn't laggy or anything like that on my daily use Nokia 1520 or my spare Nokia Icon however a few apps are not available and Cortana and One Drive are not consistently working. If you want to try the preview of Windows 10 on your Windows Phone just go to the store and install the app called WINDOWS INSIDER. If you just want slightly early versions of software then install the app PREVIEW FOR DEVELOPERS.

1. I enjoy using my Lumia Icon and have the Windows 10 preview installed on my Lumia 928. Hopefully Windows Phone usage share will increase so Microsoft doesn't have to kill it off in the future. The new Lumias that are rumored to be coming out soon look cool.
