  8. I ended up taking it to an Apple Store for the install of the current IOS. The computer kept trying (searching) to install an older version that is no longer available, and I could not "instruct" it otherwise.

  11. When you say, make sure it's back up, are you talking time machine or another method?

  13. DO NOT DO THIS WITH OS X LION!!! It is no longer available from the app store. You will delete your hard drive and won't have a computer anymore.
