  3. I used this drive for almost two years and it stopped working when it dropped off my desk while it was on. Two different data recovery companies have told me that the entire drive data is unrecoverable. ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR A GREAT DATA RECOVERY company to look at my drive? Thanks

  5. what is the difference between this one and the "Seagate Expansion 4TB Portable External Hard Drive"? I would like to use my external HD between my mac and PC interchangeably - which one would be best. I know you mentioned formatting but i dont know anything about that.   8. I thought you made a mistake when you said it wasn't meant to be portable because of the sharp edges but no, you're right. I confused it with the Seagate Backup Plus FAST, which you're not reviewing; you're reviewing just the Segate Backup Plus which doesn't have FAST in its name.
  9. I bought a Seagate Backup plus 4tb like a month ago, but I don't really know how to install it. I want to use it as an external hard drive, as an extension rather than a backup. Is that possible?

  11. My 4 TB Portable Fast Seagate Plus Drive has a lot of file system errors and chkdsk takes forever on this drive. The raid 0 is supposed to be prone to file corruption on this drive. I just reformatted it using EaseUS Partition Manager and am running a Long Generic Seatools test to see if it is fixed. This one seems like a better choice.

  13. Hi, I want to use this mostly for my DVDs & Pic;s on my PC and LT can I move it from one to the other? and do I need to have it plugged in all the time as I want to use only when I need it. to get a movie or pic from it?
  14. Does your HD go to sleep mode or shut down?

    Just bought mine from Costco and noticed that it won't power down after the computer is shut off. I left it overnight and it was still on in the morning. Is there an option to power it down when the computer is off?

  16. I recently bought the 3TB version of this hard drive. It works very well and all, but there's a slight issue: the fan has been quite loud from the beginning. This is my first external desktop hard drive ever, so I have no idea how loud these should be. It's as loud as a Wii or Wii U with a disc inserted I'd say. Could you please tell me how loud your drive is? Thanks in advance.

Is there a way for me to copy and paste photos onto this external drive so that I can delete them from my computer and not lose them?  Also, why is it that when I try to open the file folders from the backup, I don't see any information?  All the files seem to be there, but they're empty.  I'm new to this, so please be patient!
  19. Will this work with Windows 7? I've heard that many external hard drives require formatting, especially if you have a Windows 7. Your video demo is with a Mac. Will I have to do it with the Seagate Backup Plus 4TB Ext. hard drive? If so, can you give me specific instructions on how to format it? Thanks!
