Samsung Galaxy S - i9000 - tutorial to install any Android Jelly Bean ROM. Read full description! Files you need: - Odin flasher http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1168421 - Rooted Samsung i9000(check my root tutorial of i9000 running Android 2.2) - Samsung drivers(Install kies if you do not want to search the internet for them) - Semaphore kernel(I use this one it worked very good on all my phones) http://semaphore.gr/index.php - Any Jelly Bean ROM( I used C-ROM v.10 stable, it's CyanogenMod 10.2, Android 4.2.2 based - official download link http://get.c-rom.biz/ - On my other i9000 I flashed C-ROM Mix 29.1 it works perfect too and I would recommend it to TouchWiz lovers it combines TW with CyanogenMod) + GApps(I used GApps 4.2.2) if needed by the ROM(should be specified in the ROM page) !!!UPDATE: -Latest C-ROM release : http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=575#downloads -XDA Samsung i9000 android dev page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=665&order=desc !!!UPDATE 2 - Android 4.3 kernel - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397502 - C-ROM updated their base android to 4.3.1 in order to properly work on your phone and not to remain stuck in a boot loop you will need to flash this kernel first and after that to flash the ROM Tutorial for android 4.2: 1. Put the phone in Download mode(Power off phone, Hold Volume down + Home key + Power key) 2. Connect the USB cable from the PC to the phone 3. Open ODIN, select in the PDA field the kernel that you want to use(mine was semaphore - filename: Semaphore_JB_3.1.0s.tar). In the option box select only auto-reboot 4. Flash the kernel if all good you will get a PASS message in ODIN and the phone will restart 5. After the phone restarts take out the battery in order to shut it down(it would be pointless to try to boot because you will be stuck in a boot loop, the kernel is for JB not for Android 2.x) 6. Hold the Volume UP+Home keys and power up the phone, you should get in the Recovery Mode ! FOR ANDROID 4.3(latest c-rom release) flash the Kernel from UPDATE 2 (Install zip - Choose zip from sdcard - Select your zip file) 7. Wipe data/factory reset 8. Wipe cache 9. Install zip - Choose zip from sdcard - Select your zip file(the ROM) + IF THE ROM REQUIRES GAPPS NOW IT'S THE MOMENT TO DO IT, FLASH IT THE SAME AS YOU DID THE ROM! 10. Enter Advanced - Wipe Dalvik Cache 11. Wipe cache 12. Reboot The first startup will take some time because the system is installing some components but after that enjoy your new phone.
