  1. James, your paralegal background is helpful but is not required. All one has to know is all the legal remedies available to a judgment creditor such as writs of execution, writs of garnishments, judgment liens, debtor examinations (appear & produce), etc. I learned how to enforce judgments 10 yrs ago. It's really not that difficult. You just have to know when it make sense to pursue a viable recovery or when it's a dead judgment. But definitely get into it. It's good money, especially when you do wage garnishments. That's residual money. And from my experience, purchasing the judgment for $.10 on the dollar outright will allow you to not be charged with practicing law without a license. Doing a contingency agreement with the original creditor to pay him a percentage of the recovery may be looked at as an agent/client relationship. The courts will think that the o.c. may still have some interest in the judgment. It's all how you write the assignment agreement. Good luck!
  2. I have my paralegal degree, and I have been looking at Judgement Recovery for a long time now, I can see myself doing that. I am good with law, and research, which from my reading is the two big things in the line of work.
