Silicon Power offers several rugged external hard drives, one in particular is the Armor A30 model. The Armor A30 is a ruggedized external hard drive and is available in capacities up to 2TB in size. This hard drive features an anti-scratch coating and a design to protect the drive in the event of a drop. Silicon Power has also done experimental testing of at 300cm. The external drive has cable storage built in and uses USB 3.0 for a connection, it is backward compatible with USB 2.0, and comes with a 3 year warranty.   1. Your review is good, and well done, but why didn't you mention the biggest problem of this drive? The wrong usb port on the drive itself. They put an "A" usb port on the device, which is what is used on the computer end. This forces you to use a "special" usb cable that has the same end on both ends. A normal usb cable has the "A" and "B" end. All devices and drives need to have the "B" usb port on them, so that a normal usb cable (commonly available) can be used. This design ruins what would otherwise be a good backup drive. These companies need to stop trying to force us to buy specialty cables, when we all have an abundant supply of normal usb "A" to "B" cables! Hopefully Silicon Power company is listening........
