http://www.avoiderrors.net/?p=11366 UAC (User Account Control) does not usually affect this problem, so don't go out and disable UAC. For this to work is To Take Ownership of a file or folder. Take ownership zip http://www.avoiderrors.net/Downloads/TakeOwnership.zip Before you run this I recommend doing a backup of your registry: http://goo.gl/E9at7T

  1. Thanks. it helps :)
  2. So I must have the most stubborn file in the world, this file will accept no owner and is slave to no master. Tried both methods and I still can't copy it from my USB because of permission errors. This file must be corrupt, encrypted, or having so much fun on my USB thumb drive that it doesn't want to leave
  3. After seeing so many complicating videos, this is so simple. Thank you very much.
  4. Thanks Bro!! You just saved me another 4 hours in figuring out what the hell is the error messages mean!
  5. As previous users venomtail1 and CyberGolem1 and Nikhil Hirani3 and Mercedes Fields and Jam Meggoe:
    "Nope, still didn't work".

PLEASE COME UP WITH A BETTER TUTORIAL ABOUT THIS ISSUE FOR WIN 7 AND WIN 10

Hello, first of all the TAKE "OWNERSHIP" registry hack only worked in very few occasions, for me. Now a small 3MB folde, with 4 dll files isde, r I'm trying to copy to another flash drive gives me attitude "You'll need to provide administrator permission to perform this action". This folder does NOT have a security tab.

Under properties it has only 4 tabs: GENERAL/SHARING/PREVIOUS VERSIONS/CUSTOMIZE.

I tried to change the sharing setting to EVERYONE. Does not work. So I took the 411MB files that contains all my printer drivers and burnt it to disk. I also created an ISO out of all these files and folders. The "SECURITY" tab and "Take Ownership" did not work for this folder, which is my printer manager folder with 4 dll files inside.
  6. Thanks very very very munch i suffering this problem since 1 year thanks very much sir
