Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S (LT18i) dead after following http://androidlegend.com/upgrade-sony-xperia-arc-arc-s-to-android-4-2-via-cyanogenmod-10-1/ Unfortunately installing the ROM failed. I rebooted the phone and now I only get the initial screen with "Sony". Device does not respond to start button (it does not turn off), it does not gets any further on the boot process (can not boot into the Clockworkmod Recover again), therefore it's not detectable by any computer (so I can't flash it again). Any suggestions???

  4. Here's how i fixed mine and it got me my phone back plus i can use my bluetooth again with no worries. ^_^)


    Press VolumeUp button and PowerOn/Off button simultaneously and hold until Xperia logo goes off. Then you have several seconds to act untill your phones begins to re-boot again.

    {WORKS FOR BOTH LOCKED AND UNLOCKED SCREENS} (^_^)
    When your lock screen appears
    1. Simply press and hold the power button to open a Power Off option.
    2. When the power off option appears, Switch the Airplane mode ON. Now in some cases the phone will stay on and some it might go off but regardless it will stay on when it reboots.
    3. With this option on, the Bluetooth will also be turned off since it's the cause. Comfortably enter your password to unlock your phone.
    4. In order to get back your freedom to use your network with full access to your phone go-to-settings and find BACK-UP & RESET.
    5. Here, you will be faced with two options:
    * Back-up & restore
    * Personal data
    Now go under Personal Data, you'll also find two lovely options.
    What you will do here is very important since it concerns your data and files.
    6. Select SETTINGS RESET, and follow through to the end of the process. When it's done, the phone will restart and Voila!! your old phone is back with every data and file intact.

I had the same problem with my Xperia Arc S (LT18i) but following the Sony guide on this page (http://developer.sonymobile.com/services/flash-tool/) I have solved the problem and restored the phone to its original firmware!!! According to the guide, the unlocked boot loader is required to continue the procedure (and I had it)!!! I hope it will help you!!!

  11. mine also, but the xperia logo comes out and the wall paper appear after a few second it shut down,,.someone help pls.
  12. first i used fastboot to unlock the boot loader suddenly it work
    second i used Sony PC Companion to re-flash the room.

    If it is still valid for you... Press VolumeUp button and PowerOn/Off button simultaneously and keep pressing them until Xperia logo goes off. Then you have several seconds to act untill your phones begins to re-boot again. During these seconds you must try to switch off the Bluetooth slider in the Settings. I did this several times until my speediness was enough to succeed... Hope to have helped you! Good luck!

    NB: If you have a security code on the front page, I doubt that you will enough time to catch up... In this case you need to go to the phone repair service for hard reset...

  18. Here are some helpful tips:
    1)try pressing volume up+volume down+power     do not leave the keys unpressed until the xperia logo is shown up
    if this does not work, try the second tip:
    2)sony update service software update/reinstall
    :download and install sony update service (support.sonymobile.com/us/ > search update service)
    :start update service
    :make sure your phone(xperia arc s LT18i) has battery charged at least 50%
    :click next
    :select your phone model and click next
    :when update service has checked your phone software, you will get a message about latest software update installed
    :click software repair(phone repair)/software reinstall
    :follow the instructions and the sony official software for xperia arc will be installed

    hope this is going to work! ;) :)

    P.S.:Oh, and anyway, DO NOT REINSTALL ANY CUSTOM ROMs OR REFLASH YOUR PHONE!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU DO IT AGAIN, YOUR PHONE MAY BE DESTROYED!

    And if the second tip doesn't work, you must give your phone to a Sony Service Centre. There they can fix your phone by replacing the main card[internal storage card](which includes: Android Software,Sony built-in apps etc.) or if they cannot find a solution, the phone must be replaced.

  20. Did you flash it via the Sony ericsson "PC Companion"? Mine is still running on Android 2.3.4 smoothly and without any bugs. Shall i Update it?
