In this video I will show you how to configure your synology was as a time machine server target. Your Mac can automatically back-up to this target. This is a really stable and convenient way to make sure your data is safe

Not sure what and how to set up the synology so that it can show the win/mac functions as yours. Please reply.
  2. Thank you! This was very helpful. Do you know how to do this for two different macs (I have a laptop and desktop)? Many thanks. I looked at web forums but I'm not quite tech savvy enough to understand them.
  3. A brilliant video. So helpful and easy to understand. Many thanks! Take note Synology - quick question. How do I stop it from using too much disk space?
  4. What would be the best approach to use Time Machine with multiple Macs?
  5. In Addition to my comment i recomend to create a new user as admin named for example rwin-tm with his own password, this user doesmt need any rights only access to the folder time machine and limit him to quota twice the size of the disk saved by time machine, otherwise time machine will fill up your nas until its full.remember the password of the new user cause you will it when connecting to time machine via the created user.
  6. Super and easy to unterstand but why are you not limiting time machine to a certain amount of disk space ?
  7. Thank you for this. Better than the synology guide
