This class teaches students how to create recovery disks and how to use them. Topics Covered Creating Recovery Disks Using Recovery Tools and Disks Class Notes Introduction If you don't have your disks it will cost you $100-$150 to buy new ones Creating Recovery Disks All manufacturers use different software Go to START-ALL PROGRAMS and then look for a folder with the name of the manufacturer, or something that says "Recovery", or "Disaster" Recovering a Computer Always backup your data before doing a recovery You can recover from a program when the computer is started, or you can use the recovery disks If you use the disks make sure the computers BIOS is set to boot off the the CD/DVD drive before the hard drive.

  3. Just followed your instructional video, ty. It's a Gateway NV79 and needed 3 DVD's to burn Recovery Discs.

    Now, as for "backup before you "use" recovery discs/tools? Would an external UBS HDD/SSD,etc be sufficient for "backup"? Is there a special software YOU recommend for backup BEFORE I try to use recovery disc,etc?

  9. hi can u tell me eli ,when i am purchase hp laptop with win 8 after few month system upgrade and using win 10. due to some problem in system i format it and back to win8 again same upgrade to 8.1 and 10 at last driver problem i again format by recovery image in my laptop but this time when upgrade to 8.1 its show and ask activating key //////when ask this issue to Microsoft he ask me key but when i purchase it dont know he give me the code of etc . and other side hp told me warrant is over go to customer care , can u help me how to know my key for update again upgrade ............. When i open windows recovery in order to reimage a computer at work, and go through the steps to reimage a computer from a backup i've made which lives on the network, it won't show up on any list because i'm not connecting to the network. I'm plugged in via ethernet but it won't connect. Reason for this comment: I can install a driver but i have no idea where it is or what to search for the find it. All i know is system32/drivers/.

    a while back i brought my computer in to get cleaned up and when i got it back it gave me a few days to enter a code. usaly on the bottom of the computer (it can't be seen now after some time)
    so idk what that was back then but now i think i can do it my self but if i need that code i'm f'd. lol

  19. Thanks man, i found the restore folder and was able to restore my laptop easily. Is it possible to just burn the files to a USB instead of CD's?
  20. I ordered the Recovery disk for my Toshiba Satellite Laptop because my computer didn't come with the recovery partition on the hard drive. However, the recovery disk is for a windows vista which is what was initially on the laptop. I had upgraded to a windows 7 home premium and now the Recovery disk does not work. What can I do?
