Upsell external hard drive, do not copy data to DVD or CD Procedures Pick a set of procedures and then stick with it Avoid "Rabbit Hole to Hell" Have a file server that can keep data for a few months Money A Small shop could charge up to $1000 for data recovery services I would advise at least a minimal fee $49 because it can take a lot of work Determine what TYPES of files need to be recovered and then bill based on that, NOT ON SPECIFIC FILE Final Thoughts... 13. I think you can make free learning plateform where every one share there new ideas and learning process.because more you discuss more you learn
  14. You should do some videos on Linux filesystems as it's very important for servers.
  15. well said about what to charge...we as techs are not just charging you for the time spent but you're paying for our knowledge as well. I remember the owner and myself would go home each night and spend 2 hrs or more studying and reading books. Our learning never stops.
  16. sometimes customers will ask me to save stuff before I reinstall windows...I always write on the invoice "will try to save all files" in other words I don't promise that I can find & save all their files.
  17. Ohh, All my heartstrings got pulled out a long time ago. The doctor said they needed to go.
  18. Thank you for all these awesome and really informative courses.Actually once I myself lost about 300Gb data (from which 10 Gb were important). my external disk were encrypted with truecrypt and header or something got corrupted so it could mount image but couldn't read filesystem. everything ended happily i got back most of the data, but I struggled with it about 2 weeks to find solution. Encryption is deathtrap if it fails!
