  2. i don't recomend this NAS. THE FIRST PROBLEM: In a Raid 5 the max speed of a encrypted volume is 10 MB/s :s
    SECOND PROBLEM: it has a loooot of problems with the power off. the firmware has got a lot of bugs. After some firmware updates i think this problem its solved.
    quite poor product for the money that it costs.
  3. Something big is going on here. Is this the end of Seagate? This device is the biggest Junk with a capital J!! BUYER BEWARE! Better read the reviews on Amazon.com for instance (wish that I did so...) Read the almost nightmarish stories. Must be the lowest scoring device on Amazon ever. This device should be pulled from the market immediately. It is the biggest risk for your precious data : You WILL lose it, no doubt.

    Even look how pathetic Seagate responds to all negative reviews in an attempt to blame it all on the customer, without even making any attempt of fixing their crappy hardware.

  11. He mentions that the network will do load balancing or be redundant; does anyone know if it will do link aggregation or have software that will allow it to be used with VLANs?

  16. Agree'd, Synology software and support is very hard to rival. Just recently sold my cs-407e and now have a ds-411. Amazingly useful little machines
