In this video I am showing you guys how to use time machine on the Mac OS to its full potential. With the help of migration assistant you can recover user accounts, applications and settings. However you can't recover specific files or applications. With a little work around you can still recover those individual files and applications which is very helpful if you just want to install your most used files after an OS upgrade. This also works with different OS versions as you see in the video. 1. Thanks man
  2. Very helpful, but why would you restore a Kanye West album?
    😎
  3. Do you have to reinstall certain apps?
  4. Great explanation! I'm going to try your method to recover apps from a 10.8 to 10.12. Do you know if the Microsoft Office or Matlab will migrate, too, using the TimeMachine?
  5. Hey Thanks a lot man. This video was very helpful.
  6. You can open Time Machine within documents too. ;-)
  7. Lifesaver, my macbook air was stolen, and my TM/TC backup is the only place I have a lot of pertinent files. Thanks for sharing.
  8. I have a MacBook Pro which is now about 2 years old. I last used it yesterday, watching YouTube videos on multiple tabs in Safari. Unfortunately, Safari just crashed and quit. Now, even with a shut-down, system updates and various other attempts, my Safari is still crashing as soon as I open it (I can see the multiple tabs trying to load, but cannot see the content, website url, etc). Can you suggest any other solutions to try??
  9. this video is out of date. My understanding is that from Yosemite onwards, you can not use a series of backups done on a different mac from the one that you are restoring to. There must be a workaround, but this video is out of date for current users of the most recent OS's.
  10. Thanks bro.

  16. Hello, Good video.
    Questions
    1) If I need to restore from a backup disk to a brand new mac only my email, including email accounts configurations, is there a way to do that?
    2) When I restore an app as you showed, will it restore configuration files too or will it appear as if it was newly installed?

    Thanks.
  17. Great! I never knew you could do this with Time Machine. Just did this ON EL Capitan from previous OS. Zero problems. Thank you.
