  1. I love Icy Dock. I use their 4 bay 2.5'' tray system.
  2. Sooooo fucking sexy !
  3. Slap that harddisk Eli, slap it hard !
  4. this is perfect for "Training/test" pc..so i can use multiple OS
  5. I suppose I should know this.........but what OS are you using if not Windows. Let me guess.............................................OSX?
  6. My god that thing is seeeeeeeeexy.
  7. I have the Icydock that holds 3 - 3.5 drives in 2 bays and it keeps the drives cooler than those inside the computer. I liked it so much I got an Icy 5.25 that holds 4 laptop drives. I use the Cooler Master HAF Test Bench case for the reason it is easy to lift and carry. And because I do not have any hard drives inside now, I can take the Icy's out and the computer is considerably lighter in weight. Can you intercede with Cooler Master? This case can fit 8 hard drives inside. Why not make pop outs on the side of the case so Icys can be put in, so all 8 can be accessed from the outside? And make some (or all) of the 8 fixtures 5.25 (3.5 with adapter) to take the various Icy docks. Some of the Icys can take 4 laptop drives. This would be good for a Raid or even a software raid. This way a user can have their regular drives and a backup raid too.
  8. Hot Swap Hard Drive Rack sounds really fancy and handy though, the reality is that u better LEAVE such extreamly delicate HDDs alone and put them away from ur hands. Eli is right these days HDDs have become cheaper than ever but data on them. Cheaper means more capacity, also means more data to crash and trash. U are not supposed to play them with ur hands. If so, someday u will find urself u have played really stupid thing. Simply ur hands and HDDs never mix. They are not portable. Not even close. Just LEAVE them alone always. Hot Swap stuff for HDDs is only for RAID. In RAID, U plug HDDs once in the rack, when problem occurs on one of them, plug it out, plug a new HDD in, and trash the old one. Only that kinds of manner. Just do not put HDDs in any kind of racks and do not play with HDDs or Doomsday will come. Period.
  9. That looks a ton better than the tray less hot swap I bought from rose will and the icy dock one looks like it would last a lot longer too
  10. You remind me of Christoph Waltz. Just thought i'd share this.
  11. Eli, you are 100% correct. I went to one operating system per drive and I went to zero headaches. The dock works great for that purpose.
  12. I'm glad I watched this. Helped me with my backup solution. Also, Eli, can you do a video on what people and companies can do to fully migrate off of Windows? The only reason I'm still on Windows is because not every game I own/play is available for Linux (Valve and developers are doing an awesome job off bringing more games to Linux platform, but a lot of good titles aren't there yet). This question is based off your final thought, and I figured it would be an awesome video to see. Thanks, and stay awesome.
  13. Sold me, and on more than just this product.
  14. Bought one like that for 10$ on ebay, that's cheap price not 40$
  15. Watch the first 30 seconds of your video and then ask yourself why on earth you always talk like that? It almost creeps me out and I'm a middle aged man.
  16. I started to use Gnu/Linux 2 years ago and I don't miss Windows at all.
  17. Guess Performance goes down ....

    SSD -> 3,5 Case -> 5,5 Case -> Mainboard

    Pleas Eli post some Benchmark

    Thx
  18. I watch your videos at Speed X 2... pump out the tech talk  ;)
  19. that looks brilliant $44 here in australia
