We wick out the remaining solder from the pads and soak the memory chip in the container filled with 99.9% alcohol. MG Chemicals wick MG Chemicals 99.9% alcohol Soldering Station Hakko FM203 with Hakko FM2027 iron Third, and the final step of the process is extracting data from the memory and rebuilding logical image of the flash drive. RAW data from the chip gets extracted with the help of the programmer, and gets saves as a binary data file on the computer. Later with help of software part of the VNR we are able to visualize the content, and apply needed data conversion elements in order to achieve the look and the structure of the original volume, as it would have appeared when the flash drive worked. I have a USB flash drive that worked normally before on my MacOS, one day when I plugged it in it says 'The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer and I cannot see the drive even though the blue light is flashing normally indicating power and connectivity is ok.
