Learn how to restore your HP computer using a system image in Windows 8. With Windows 8, you can backup every file and setting on your computer at once and save it as a system image. If you ever have a software problem, you can restore your PC back to exactly as it was when you created the system image. For other helpful videos go to hp.com/supportvideos or youtube.com/howto4u. WHY DO U NEED DISCS ! OMG

Did you use a DVD or an external drive? If it's a DVD, make sure the disc isn't scratched or the session not complete. If it's on an external or network drive, google "windows 8 doesn't recognize image restore". You'll see forum posts talking about this, mostly for Windows 7 though, but some of the steps to fix this are likely similar.

I have created the image but cannot restore the image. It cannot detect the image. Kindly advice what can be done to restore the file.

It should as long as the hard drive has the same (or more) amount of storage space and if you have a System Repair disc, which can be created at the time you created the system image.

How many dvds do you need to make a system image? Can you use multiple hard drives or flash drives to make a system image?

You'll need all the discs.
