Comments

  1. Acronis is great if you have a dedicated station. For on-site drive to drive or drive from image, you can use Clonezilla with a 16 or 32 gb flash drive.
  2. lol only 8TB on your server i have over 10TB on my desktop :)
  3. Thanks for your videos .. I was not clear when would one go for a bare metal recovery over a plugging a hard drive with an enclosure into a dedicated recovery machine.
  4. "Eli's stamp of approval" - i like how it sounds, almost like "soviet quality mark":D
  5. I just upgraded from the 2009 version to  the TI 2014 version and  really like it.  It has changed some of course but it's still fairly easy to use, the 2014 TI clones faster for sure with less steps involved.  I would like to be able to use it to just clone my other computers drives, not install the whole suit.  09 was a little better in that respect.
Everyone has their own favorite software tools and Acronis has always been part of my DVD tool kit.
  6. Just got my first real technician job today, and was told to know how to use Acronis.  Thank You for this video, love the introduction and real world explanations.  Learned what I needed quickly and well articulated.  Badass!
  7. @Eli Great video, as usual. My experience with Acronis differs quite a bit from yours. I backed up to DVDs but was unable to restore after a crash. Why? I don't know, Acronis only communicates via chat, not much help when your computer is dead! Here's my latest experience with spending money on line with Acronis.

A month after buying True Image 2014 family pack(3 computers) I went to the Acronis site to download the software, it only showed that I had purchased a single licence for True Image not the family pack(3)! The only method of contact that Acronis permits is chat (I am a paralyzed war vet and type with one finger), I had no choice, I used chat to question the discrepancy. Acronis then made ME look up, on their site, what software I own and the serial numbers and then tells me, if that's what it says that's what you bought! I was infuriated! Forget it, Just give me my money back! Your ads state "Satisfaction Guaranteed" I am certainly NOT SATISFIED!

Then comes the real kicker, the person who tells me HIS NAME IS "supervisor" says "Satisfaction Guaranteed" is only for the first 30 days and I purchased the software 38 days earlier. Whether I have actually had the software in my possession is irrelevant. He hung up on me before I got to the cursing stage! Acronis is a foreign owned company with customer NON-support in India, buy their software at your own peril!
  8. Dammit he had to mention best buy again
  9. I heard on windows 8, there's a built in feature to do what Acronis does. Is Acronis still better or is windows 8 recovery pretty good?
  10. He is in Baltimore...
  11. Do you live in Detroit? I've heard over 5 sirens in your videos
  12. how do you feel about deepfreeze from faronics that way you never need to actually image the computer it simply never saves any changes to the computer
  13. Home 2009
  14. You can skip the guy's self-loving intro and go straight to 10'th minute of the video to get where you want to be!
  15. you can try downloading take ownership
  16. im new to acronis, and im trying to do something a bit weird, i need to use the 180gb windows 7 image i made and install it into a vertual machine on a macbook, unless bootcamp is better, basically i want to have my windows on the go lol.... email me wallybescotty at gmail dot com, if you want, im just learning more about the software and what my limitations will be lol
  17. Thanks for your videos, I am a huge fan ! Sorry I am a newbie, please bare with me for this question: Is there a freeware disk imaging software for server 2008? I downloaded 180-days trials of server 2008+SQLserver 2008+SharePoint2010 into my laptop(and it took me forever). Acronis will only allow me to use their business version for 15 days(but I don't have $800, so if I back up an image of my laptop's harddrive today, will that image be any good in, let's say, one year from now? thanks!
  18. Eli,, can you also paste "into" the .tib file when opened with Acronis?
  19. Great. Thank you you just answered in perfect time as i requested my engineer to do something like this. Thank you once again
  20. Yes, you could have someone setup a RAID 1 configuration for you . An exact copy (or mirror) of a set of data on two disks.
