  1. that easy!THANKS GUYS!
  2. !!! THIS WORKS !!!

Okay, so here's the deal... I know you guys are prob already graduating MIT or something, but I owe you one.  You got me on the path that saved a pile of priceless circuit designs and other files. I knew I needed Linux, but didn't realize it could now be loaded so easily with a USB drive (and it looks like OS X lol). For all those reading this, the comments below saying it didn't work etc are from people who have completely totaled their drive... if it's corrupted, THIS WILL WORK! These kids rock.

Here's what I want to do...  if you still check this account, and get this... email me.  I want to hook you up with something for taking the time to save everyones important files. This video is a LIVE SAVER PEOPLE! This method also works with many tablets and phones btw. The guys in Hells Kitchen, NYC said it would be about $1000 to save my files (I of course laughed at him).  This video was a fast track to salvation, thanks dudes! Hit me up....   ~Doc

PS: You MUST LOAD the Linux OS onto a FAT32 formatted drive, if you load it to an NTFS formatted drive... you will get a "No boot loader" error when to drive boots up on start up.  That's the only important piece of info that I would add to the procedure.  THANKS AGAIN!
  3. Thanks for the tips on how to boot ubuntu on a flash drive. But you should change the title of your video - it should not be "recover Data from a damaged Hard Drive" rather be smthin' like "Recover Data from a broken or corrupt windows" Cos your method won't recover files from a truly damaged drive!
