  1. You totally go over the "Category Back-up" button and don't go into it. Good info though, I'd have to disagree with you on the drop box. NOTHING is 100% safe on the internet, I'd rather just give important papers to a family member or TRUSTED friend and if anything goes wrong call them and have them fax it to me, or make copies and take the copies with me.
  2. how do I copy protect and anti screen recording on external hard disk
  3. You are a true legend!
  4. Wonderful tutorial, I was really lost in backing up and your instructions sure paved the way so that I could backup properly...Much Thanks!!! Dave in Winnipeg
  5. Great tutorial, as usual. Thanks.
  6. Perfect!  This is just what I was looking to explain how to use this software.  Many thanks.
  7. Excellent video. I have one question hopefully someone can answer. I'd like to connect my WD My Book to my WD TV Live box, which is connected to my router via ethernet, and am wondering if I can backup my files that way without it being connected to a PC once I have it set up on my Dropbox account. Since my WD TV box is connected to the internet will it backup my files from the WD My Book external drive?
  8. I've bought 4 of their drives but I didn't get any software
  9. Question: I started a backup on WD My Passport Ultra with my entire C Drive selected. When I realized how long this was going to take, I deselected files I didn't need and applied the changes. Are the unnecessary files still saved and taking up space in my backup file because of how I started my backup, or did they get deleted when I adjusted which files I wanted to back up? It seems like they may all be saved because when I go to Retrieve, it shows my entire C drive. If this is the case, how can I get rid of what I don't want to back up so I can have more room? I would also like to do a system image and need more room. I checked online for an answer but couldn't find one.
  10. What these crooks trying to do Monopoly like Apple and Microsoft.I download the smart ware only target I get is Dropbox. I cant get their own device Mycloud as target. If I need to backup I need to buy pro Version.
  11. nice
  12. im not sure which to use. smart ware and od backup or wd sync ? they seem to both copy the files to the my cloud nas device... and either way i can also access the files on the go... correct?
  13. good job
  14. Is there any backup software that has the option to just take "screenshots" of what I had on the drive and uploads it in the cloud? I use the external drive only for movies and music, all of which are large files that take time uploading and I can download again if I lose it. I just hate losing movies and then not knowing what I lost.
  15. JUST WATCH OUT AS YOU MAY WANT TO CHANGE YOUR ISP IF YOU BUY ONE OF THESE: Due to the world wide exhaustion of IPv4 addresses Flip has
implemented a technology called “Carrier Grade Network Address
    Translation” (CGNAT).
While this technology is totally transparent to 99% of people, it
does mean if you want to run a server at home and use a technique known
as “Port Forwarding” or “Pin-holing” these services will not work.
  16. Great tutorial! Addresses all of the basics.
  17. good
  18. could I just ask how this backup software would work if I expanded the my cloud device with an additional hard drive plugged into the back
  19. Thanks I needed this. Helped a lot :)
  20. WD sucks. Backup and Retrieve are ALWAYS blued out and makes the program unusable. Biggest waste of money I have spent in all my computer years.
